Mission Statement | Operating Principles | CARF Accreditation | Service Site Locations | Guiding Principles Santa Maria El Mirador promotes an array of quality supports for individuals with developmental disabilities in community integrated environments centered on personal choice, self value, and dignity.
Santa Maria El Mirador was initially awarded the maximum three year Work Services The current accreditation was awarded in the summer of 2003.
SMEM programming is administered from two sites: Alcalde (P.O. Box 39) providing services to the Espanola Valley, north to Taos, and 2041 S. Pacheco in Santa Fe, which serves the Santa Fe area. The telephone numbers are 852-4243 in Alcalde and 424-7700 in Santa Fe. Both sites administer assisted living and supported employment services. The Alcalde site administers an extensive day habilitation and vocational/employment program and supported living program as well. All services focus on community inclusion and the development of choice making skills.
We believe that each person has value, self-worth and the potential for continued personal growth. We feel everyone can contribute to their community and make informed choices and decisions that effect their lives. We strive to focus on abilities rather than disabilities by enabling each individual to reach a greater level of independence. In order to respond to each persons potential, we provide a variety of individual supports which include personal growth, community work and employment, community living and other specialized services. We believe that the above values are a vital part of our heritage and continue to shape our future. |
